Alanis, in collaboration with Nikki Burcea, received the President's Award for Public Sculpture in 2019 from SUNY Purchase College.

 

Together they constructed three pieces: 

​

(1) the bench

(2) the cut-out wall

and (3) pole structure w/ wind elements

​

to be displayed on campus, inviting interaction, rest, and community from students and guests. 

​
